I'm a software developer in Indiana so lower cost of living. Our current market in my area is closer to 60k for a junior developer (straight out of college), a developer (2+ years depending on ability) is closer to 75k, senior developer (7+ years) is closer to 120k, and principled developers are much higher at that 140k+. Could be wrong on my estimate of years because it depends more on ability.

I think the most interesting thing I heard is that the fed has to use every tool at their disposal to crash markets and fight inflation, tough talk is one of the tools they have. Probably why they get the reputation for jawboning.
re: tornato cash. I think the worst part was how sudden it was shut down. They provided no warning to the honest citizens to remove their funds. They just made an assumption that all funds and some wallets should be frozen out. That's not protecting the citizens from crime. It seems like a crime itself.

those number are accurate from my experience in solidity Dan – I started on 120k now am up to around 140k, seen people much smarter than me start on double that. Its the time and repetitiveness that turns off new people from what they told me, our team has a very high attrition rate and we are small compared to the larger projects

I see striking similarities between this and the gun manufacturing industry. Anti-gun groups constantly trying to tie mfgs of firearms to those who use their product in illegal or criminal ways. Rob – Dev salaries vary greatly, but $400,000/yr isn't out of the question. However, that pay rate is given to highly talented experienced people. You aren't gonna get paid that rate as a newby or as a mediocre dev. A newby will get more like $50,000 to $80,000/yr depending on their training. If they have to train you then $40,000 to $50,000/yr. That being said if they are offering that, then maybe I need to take a look and consider it 🙂
Maybe my comprehension ain't so good, but I did not hear Powell equate maintaining 2% price stability, with the goal of the "job" he's committed to seeing through. He admitted that he's accountable to the people, "through Congress", and we all know the bang-up job THEY'RE doing, in representing the will of the people.
