Reporter Matthew Sheffield noticed something odd about Donald Trump’s new NFT trading cards, so he did some digging and found that the cards were likely ripped off from stock images and other product pages on Amazon and elsewhere. This is par for the course with Trump, taking someone else’s work and then slapping his own face on it. Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Well, folks, if you were looking to buy one of Donald Trump’s limited edition N f T trading cards, I got some bad news. They’re sold out in less than 24 hours. Donald Trump’s n f t collection sold out, netting him, uh, or grossing him, I guess. I don’t know which one it is. But anyway, 4.45 million. He conned his supporters out of totally gone. You can’t get ’em, sorry folks. But Donald Trump gets to walk away with four and a half million dollars for now because there is a chance he could end up losing all of that money because according to reports he may have stolen those images. Uh, Matthew Sheffield, a uh, correspondent for the Young Turks, put together a Twitter thread showing that Donald Trump’s n f t like non fungible token images that are supposed to be original creations that you sell, might actually be stolen from sites like Amazon.
The first one he pointed out was the one of Donald Trump dressed as a cowboy, and he showed that there’s actually a cowboy costume available on Amazon in two different colors. And when you put the two images together, you basically get the image of Trump. Even the hands are identical to the one in the product picture from amazon.com. So it’s pretty obvious they took the collar off one, uh, uh, of the images, they took the rest of it off the other, put ’em together, slapped Trump’s face on it poorly. And that’s an N F T. Um, if you’re using somebody else’s work and claiming it as your own and selling it for a profit, uh, you can 100% be sued for that. And because this was a product on Amazon, not a stock image that they purchased, that is actually an actionable legally speaking problem. So Donald Trump could easily be sued for stealing someone else’s images for his NFTs. Now then he goes on, he shows the, uh, the astronaut picture of, and he says, the Trump astronaut NFT image appears to have been a recolored image that was stolen from at, uh, Benny Direct, uh, uh, uh, whatever. So he stole this one too. Then he goes on to the next one, the Trump Fighter Jet Pilot. NFT seems to be a shutter stock image. Did they license it? Who knows if they licensed it, they could technically sell it like that, but, uh, maybe not. And then this is the funniest one.
Here’s the image from which the Trump tuxedo
NFTs seems to have been created. It’s fitting that a fake billionaire put himself in a tuxedo from men’s warehouse. And that’s of course the one with the worst photoshopped head on there. But yep, I mean, you can see the image. The hands are identical to the men’s warehouse image that, of course is not a stock image. So it would be illegal for him to sell that as his own. And then of course, you have the N F T of him pretending to be a hunter. Um, it’s derived from a waiter set from d n w outdoors.com, um, stole his people seem to have stolen these images and sold them as if they were they owned, their owned. So yes, Trump made his 4.45 million off of this, but how much is he gonna lose in the resulting lawsuits? That’s going to be hilarious. And if you owned those images that Donald Trump appears to have ripped off, and it’s very obvious, the hand position for me is what gives it away. Like you stole these images, as far as I can tell, and you’re gonna end up losing every single dollar that you spent on it. And more importantly, because these are digital NFTs, everyone who bought them might also lose them, which means they could then end up suing you as well. So enjoy your four and a half million dollars now, cuz you’re probably gonna lose a hell of a lot more than that when the lawsuits get filed.

Did they show a card showing his fat ass during his golf swings? The man is as fit as Fat Bastard in Austin Powers movie.
Oh course he did. He is a crook.
They are sold on the secondary market, and Trump gets a fee for every NFT is traded.
I am not surprised that these were made with minimum effort and zero licensing.
I am, however, surprised that people spend money on this shit that looks like the fantasies of an eight-year-old bashing his action figures together.
is there a snake oil saleman card?
SURELY DONNIE DIDN'T DO SOMETHING ILLEGAL ! (SARCASM)
They bought stolen goods lol
Trump’s base weren’t the purchasers of the Trump NFTs; more likely it’s a money laundering scheme. To buy the Trump NFT you needed a cryptocurrency account w the right crypto currency in it…not smthg the avg Trump base has!
If it involves " stealing " there is no maybes about it !!
Remember, kids, Trump is a self-made billionaire who always makes perfect business decisions…. LOL… I'll leave now….
2:12 they're not even close to being the same jacket?!
Guess none of you were good at finding Wally either. 😄
Rubbish.
I wouldn’t be surprised if AI generated the pictures and they were photoshopped from there. When you utilize AI image generation, the resulting images are yours to do with as you please to include making them NFTs. In fact NFTGO (an apple recommended app from the App Store) promotes this behavior and includes an AI image generator within the app itself, in case creativity isn’t your strong suit.
thanks for letting the country vent about old fake news…what’s new 🤷🏻♂️
I cannot understand how anyone in their right mind would pay even a single penny for that crap!!!
Of course he did! He just grabbed them by the pixels and then, suddenly they were all over his body.
That's four and a half million dollars worth of dupes out there. At the rate of $99.00 per dupe. That's a lot of dupes.
So don't ever let a MAGAt flying monkey call you stupid. Ever..
I really want to know why they sold out. Nobody's ever addressed this. I can't imagine that many people would be interested.
Of course he stole them…we already knew that.. Goddamn conman pos!
Narcissits love ripping off someone's ideas
Did ya notice he's never been any of his cards
He's afraid of animals yet he's seen riding an elephant
Was there one of him in a orange jumpsuit? I want that one!
Is ANYONE the least bit surprised by this???
Some were actually sold???
