Ethereum Shanghai upgrade has been on the mind of Ethereum holders (and stakers!) for quite some time!
Shanghai upgrade will fully seal the pathway of Ethereum towards Proof-of-Stake, higher scalability and performance
While the main concern remains the scalability question, some Ethereum improvement proposals (EIPs) of a smaller scale will be introduced.

EIP-3540: EVM Object Format (EOF) v1
EIP-3651: Warm Coinbase
EIP-3670: EOF – Code Validation
EIP-3855: PUSH0 Instruction
EIP-3860: Limit and Meter Initcode
It’s now confirmed that EIP-3651 Warm Coinbase will cut gas fees for key network participants and block builders 🔥
This is especially good news for validators as they use builders to benefit the most from the upgrade. Meanwhile, traders will benefit from not being obliged to pay transaction fees for failed trades.
Shandong testnet version went live on October 18, although Shanghai upgrade itself is expected to be released by September 2023.
