Maybe she is talking about centralised depository like nsdl or cdsl which deposit our shares in your dmat account and not with the broker. This is not the case in crypto wallets.

Tumhara wallet ka paisa jo tum add karte ho in platforms pe crypto lene ko eg: Coin DCX, wazir etc.(not centralized) and tumne kharida hua crypto sab platform k servers pe hota hai… If the platform gets hacked the cryptos and the money in wallet goes away… Since it is decentralized you cannot sue the platform for losing your money… Most of the times scams mein khud platforms hi khudka system hack karte hai aur paisa leke gayab… Abhi private key aur public key ka concept alag hai didi… Kya pata kaise samjhaya aapne short pe.
