ChatGPT has introduced a new feature called “Tasks”, designed to allow users to set reminders and recurring actions.
Users can schedule specific tasks by simply typing their requests and setting a time or frequency for completion.
This beta feature is available to Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers and aims to make ChatGPT more like a personal assistant.

To use Tasks, users need to select the “4o with scheduled tasks” option in the ChatGPT model picker. Once enabled, they can create tasks directly in chat or manage them through a dedicated Tasks section.
Notifications are sent when tasks are completed, and users can edit or cancel tasks as needed. However, only ten tasks can be active at the same time.
In a January 15 post on X, OpenAI stated, “In chat or through the tasks page under the profile menu, you can schedule tasks you want ChatGPT to do, such as send you a weekly global news briefing, get a daily personalized 15-minute workout, or set a reminder for the future”.
While similar features exist in other digital assistants, Tasks highlight ChatGPT’s ability to handle more personalized requests. Unlike Siri or Alexa, ChatGPT can suggest tasks based on user conversations, though suggestions must be approved before being set.
