Like you said, the gold-backed dollar was SUPERIOR to bitcoin in any conceivable or hypothetical way from a logical perspective. It mines itself slowly as well, and is fungible enough, except for the serial numbers. But that's hardly a concern for most people. Just saying the domino will fall is not a good reason that it will. Liron Shapira is a short holder and sure he would think that it's doomed to fail, but the fact is I can still send 500,000 overseas with a network fee that 100's if not 1000's of dollars cheaper to use then traditional methods like western union or a bank wire. SO, the use case is there, the utility is there, the adoption is exponentially getting larger everyday. Sure he hates the idea of regulation on the space, because he's short position will fall into the red and he would have to buy back on the cheap causing a short squeeze once that institutional money enters the space. Then it's to the moon baby! Once the fed starts printing the cheap money and brings the fund rate to 0%…we'll see if Shapira is over leveraged and if he still got his trunks on. BETTER SET YOUR LIMITS!
