Gene Sperling, an economic adviser to President Joe Biden and former Ripple Labs board member, is leaving the White House to support Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential campaign.
President Biden announced Sperling’s departure on August 5.
With the election just three months away, Sperling is joining Harris’ campaign as she prepares to compete against the leading Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

Sperling’s involvement with Ripple Labs began in 2015, though he is no longer listed on Ripple’s board of directors. He started working with the Biden administration in 2021.
Another notable addition to Harris’ campaign is David Plouffe, who previously served on Binance’s Global Advisory board. The potential impact of these advisers on Harris’ stance towards crypto and blockchain technology remains uncertain.
