Dogecoin started as a joke but quickly grew into one of the most used cryptocurrencies for real-world purchases. While it may not be as widely accepted as Bitcoin, DOGE still plays a unique role in the crypto economy. From global travel and luxury shopping to VPN services and even streaming platforms, more and more businesses are jumping on board. So who accepts Dogecoins today? This guide breaks it down—from major companies to niche vendors—and shows you where you can actually spend your DOGE.

AirBaltic

AirBaltic is Latvia’s national airline, operating flights across Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus. In July 2014, it became the first airline globally to accept Bitcoin for ticket purchases. In an effort to expand its cryptocurrency payment options, airBaltic added Dogecoin (DOGE) in March 2021.

To process these transactions, airBaltic partnered with BitPay, a cryptocurrency payment service provider. When booking a flight, prices are displayed in euros, and BitPay handles the conversion of DOGE to euros at the current exchange rate. This ensures that airBaltic receives payments in fiat currency, maintaining price stability.

After the announcement was made back in 2021, airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss stated that over 1,000 clients have made use of the fact that the company accepts crypto payments. While this isn’t the biggest number, he emphasized that the company still sees it as a worthwhile investment for its value in providing users with alternative payment methods.

Travala

Travala is a blockchain-based travel booking platform offering over 3 million accommodations, flights, and activities worldwide. The company integrated Dogecoin (DOGE) as a payment option in May 2021, enabling customers to book travel services using DOGE directly.

Travala accepts over 100 cryptocurrencies, including DOGE, as payment. To process these transactions, Travala partnered with various cryptocurrency payment service providers, ensuring secure and efficient conversions. When booking, prices are displayed in fiat currencies, and the chosen cryptocurrency is converted at the current exchange rate, maintaining price stability for Travala.

Newegg

Newegg is a major North American online retailer specializing in consumer electronics, computer hardware, and gaming products. In July 2014, it became one of the first major e-retailers to accept Bitcoin for purchases. Building on this, Newegg began accepting Dogecoin (DOGE) as a payment method on April 20, 2021, coinciding with #DogeDay celebrations.

To process cryptocurrency transactions, Newegg partnered with BitPay, a cryptocurrency payment service provider. During checkout, customers can select BitPay as their payment option, allowing them to pay with DOGE or other supported cryptocurrencies. Prices are displayed in fiat currency, and BitPay handles the conversion at the current exchange rate, ensuring Newegg receives payments in fiat currency.

It’s important to note that certain restrictions apply when using BitPay on Newegg. For instance, purchases of Newegg Gift Cards, subscription orders, pre-orders, return shipping labels, and transactions via the Newegg Mobile app are not eligible for cryptocurrency payments.

Keys4Coins

Keys4Coins is an online store that sells digital assets like game keys and gift cards for platforms including Steam, Origin, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Network. Founded in 2014, it quickly gained traction among Dogecoin enthusiasts by becoming one of the first retailers to accept Dogecoin directly.

You can spend Dogecoin on the platform without converting it into fiat currency. The checkout process is simple—after choosing your product, you send the payment from your Dogecoin wallet address. The transaction is confirmed within minutes, and your digital key is delivered instantly to your email.

Unlike other platforms that add additional fees, Keys4Coins processes Dogecoin transactions without a markup. This has made it a popular payment method, especially during major gaming events where discounts and limited-time deals are frequent.

At the time of writing, Keys4Coins still continues to accept payments in DOGE.

Bitrefill

Bitrefill is a crypto-only marketplace that lets you spend Dogecoin (DOGE) on everyday purchases. You can buy gift cards, mobile refills, eSIMs, and more from over 4,500 brands in 180+ countries. The platform accepts Dogecoin payments directly, along with other digital currencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC), and a few others.

To improve user experience, Bitrefill has introduced Li.Fi—a decentralized exchange (DEX) that lets you swap tokens across different chains and networks. The platform also integrates Binance Pay, allowing you to use your preferred token for DOGE payments or to swap into DOGE. You can also connect your Web3 wallet for more advanced payment options.

Bitrefill has become a popular payment method among many Dogecoin enthusiasts, especially during major gaming events and sales. By accepting Dogecoin directly, Bitrefill offers a seamless way for users to spend Dogecoin on digital assets without additional fees or intermediaries.

Only products labeled “Dogecoin only” are eligible. To complete a transaction, you’ll need a Dogecoin wallet. At checkout, Tesla provides a DOGE wallet address and a QR code. You must send the exact amount in one payment—overpayments won’t be refunded. Tesla only accepts Dogecoin and doesn’t support any other cryptocurrencies for any purchase.

The platforms take great care to remind all customers that all Dogecoin payments are final. You can’t return, cancel, or exchange items bought with DOGE.

In September 2014, it became one of the first travel companies to accept Dogecoin (DOGE) for flight and railway bookings. Shortly after implementing Dogecoin payments, the Mavericks processed over 20,000 transactions in less than two days, positioning themselves as one of the largest Dogecoin merchants at the time. Dogebeans accepts Dogecoin (DOGE) for both online subscriptions and in-person transactions. Customers can pay using DOGE by scanning a QR code at checkout, facilitating seamless purchases of their coffee products.

Why Do Businesses Accept Dogecoin?

Businesses accept Dogecoin payments for a few clear reasons: lower transaction costs, faster processing times, and access to a wider audience and user base. Compared to traditional card payments, crypto transactions can often reduce fees and remove intermediaries. This appeals to both small vendors and major companies looking to cut costs while expanding their payment options.

Dogecoin’s popularity and community support also play a major role. Thanks to viral attention and public endorsements—most notably from Elon Musk and the Dogecoin-Tesla news cycles—DOGE has become more than a meme. It’s a digital asset people actually use to spend on digital goods, merchandise, and even travel.

When paying with DOGE, don’t forget to keep track of the Dogecoin price.

The technical ease of adding Dogecoin as a payment option certainly adds to it being a popular choice. Services like BitPay, CoinGate, and Coinbase Commerce let businesses accept Dogecoin without handling it directly—converting it instantly to fiat if needed.

In short, Dogecoin is fast, cheap, and popular. That’s enough for a lot of businesses to give it serious consideration.
