Weirdly, the Metaverse estimated market value is $8 – 13 TRILLION by 2030! What does that Metaverse look like that you and I would jack into every single day? I don’t think that’s Zuck’s…

Enjoyed the video, but how is any of this new? Meta has addressed virtually all these points. People can repeat this "Decentralized VR" mantra all they want, but Meta is doing the hard engineering work of actually bringing new hardware to market. That's what really matters at the end of the day. "VR apps being owned by Meta is like one company owning all the websites on the internet" < not a good way to think about it. It's more analagous to Google owning YouTube, and providing the funding and engineering solutions to give people access to creative tools at scale, essentially for free.
Meta Ouch 🙂
This is a fantastic overview, Cas! It’s inevitable that VR and AR will become major part of our lives in the future. We can only begin to imagine where this can grow from here. Physically wearing a visor is just the beginning. Much further in the future, we could even have cybernetic augmentations that allow our brains to connect directly to the metaverse, forgoing the need for a physical visor. (This is where sci-fi is so helpful as a predictor of possibilities. See: the Netflix film “Anon” for one possible future.) Thanks so much for sharing this!
I just experienced the Metaverse for first time. Wow what a let down. If the Wii had online chat with their avatars, that is the metaverse. Also there really is no such thing as the metaverse. There is an app called Horizon Worlds that makes you believe that there is this big new world. It’s not. It’s just a network play app like any other. When you decide to buy that new house in the metaverse, that’s just Bob in programming adding some code. That’s really it!
Great video! Lukso will be the top chain with its proposed Standards. everything in this video can be done on lukso 🙂
By then should have Quest 5 or Quest 6, Which will be game changer
Nope look up burning chrome… William Gibson started it and is credited with the term cyberspace
Facebooks metaverse isn't a metaverse. They have just stolen the name and put it on a product just to get some attention.
Facebook actually has a very long history of massive contributions to open standards. Thrift, Cassandra, Open Compute, HPHP, React, PyTorch. And that’s a partial list. HTC has done nothing at that kind of scale. As for “decentralized”, an unmoderated Metaverse will become a red pill hell scape in 6 months. Without intense moderation anything online devolves into 4Chan.
keep the dream alive
I would love an arcade social hub where you can socialize and play classic arcade games which you can buy and keep playing forever
Inspirational! Thanks a lot Cas! Must've been a lot of research done to create such an informative video, appreciate it!
Thanks Cas great video i use this video for people who ask me about the Metaverse.
Six minutes to even start to get to the point……. or is it just me?
"Ik zie je in V…" Wie is V?;p
We need to standardize Physics and formats just like we did with h264 and mp3 so that we could work towards something instead of making our own separate ways
Really interesting video, thanks for posting!
Why do we wanna go into a simulation when we're already in one?
interoperability seems interesting but i'm a little worried it would make games homogenous. I like all kinds of movement and physics, its the kind of thing that's fun as a game dev to mess with. It would be a shame if there was a prescribed format.
Yeah having its own econemy is why people don't want a metaverse, Like why can't we just use credit cards and money that already exists? Like Neos was ruined by having its own money (attacked by a swarm of crypto-bros) what else could be ruined by it? Having its own money is a bad idea so is crypto and if the metaverse ends up using blockchain technology I would smash my headset and set fire to my house, I'd rather move massive files around then blow-up the planet destroying all that is good
The limit is endless in the metaverse world. This is such an excellent video explaining what can happen in 2023. Everything is mind-blowing for me and I'm interested to be part of the engaging world of Faketown Metaverse.
I love vr. And I don't agree with Mark a lot of the time… but viveverse is not going to be work horse here.. and it's not going to be a company focused on gaming (sony)..Sony… it's going to be meta..
I would be more interest in Metaverse experiences that are active and/or educational. Social apps would need to be more private and for friends only to be interesting to me. Been waiting for VR to be a thing since the 90s, pretty exciting time to be alive! Love your insight and perspective. Thanks, as always, for the great content.
I don't think you are quite there yet. If nobody you know has been to the future chances are you know just as much as they do about it.
How can you access the metaverse.
Honestly. It will be through anyway you want!! Vr Ar Mr Xr and desktop.
BoneLab is made to be modded and expanded upon. its very likely that modders will create a ton of content for it and maybe even make a solid foundation for a great metaverse/nexus with some consistency.
It's many things: a gaming platform, a virtual retail spot, a training tool, an advertising channel, a digital classroom, a gateway to entirely new virtual experiences. While the metaverse continues to be defined, its potential to unleash the next wave of digital disruption is clear.
It will be amazing to experience the nature on #metaverse but thankyou #gateio for listing the best project on your platform it is become easy to choose the best one becouse of you all the project #gateio listed on their platform is just amazing
of ti…cheers!
Really helped in 19 thx
wow, Mylosp has alot of fans ngl. but thanks doe.
thanks, Thanos, glad you're getting into soft instead of…well…
♂️
So I went into soft soft and tried to intuitively grasp the basic fundantals. And now listening back I feel like I'm one step ahead of Nice tutorialm.
Pause.
Great video. I love the metaverse and I'm waiting to explore the metaverse world in DeFi Warrior Game first
My generation (and even some boomers) are already addicted to the internet, we dont need a more addictive version no matter how "cool" it is
Can't wait to I bring my system out
I also heard most people say and even companies say the future of virtual reality and augmented reality it will become cheap affordable in the future one day i also think vr and ar needs to be affordable but we don't need to worry about that because anything is possible i do have faith that it will happen that it will be affordable
Great video!
There will be a true virtual " new reality " one day, where most ordinary (probably not wealthy people as they'll not need it to create their utopias) will exist in, and it will be all your dreams and nightmares come true…..lol, but it won't be Metas doing and will come long after Zuck is pushing up the daisy's. He's your classic egotistical billionaire techy weido, who's way too early to the party. Tech is sooooooo far from being ready to do what he envisions and also for mass adoption !! It will fall in and out of fashion many times between now and then, until the balance is just right.
You want to see what’s really going to blow your mind in 2030. Do a search for the UN 2030 agenda. It’s well underway.
Sold my quest. best thing i've done. I refuse to become a fucking slave of zuckerberg fuck that shit i prefer this reality.
It's so clear that so many people are confused about the "Metaverse" imo. There's never going be some universal system that just lets you take any character and setup into it any world or part of the "Metaverse" and it all works seamlessly across everything, other than at the highest level, just like the Internet now, and even that still has multiple versions of every aspect, from the browser you use, all the different input/control methods, and your many sign-in accounts for a multitude of services and games, to the many stakeholders both large and small, some of whom have massive power and sway across the Internet (Meta, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, etc) to small indies releasing free games for fun, etc. The only real difference I see with the "Metaverse" and the current Internet, if it's going to work successfully as a thing at all, is that you will be able to engage it via whatever version of mixed reality you choose, alongside all the other no-so-immersive ways that will still be around too. Really, we're already in and using the "Metaverse" every day, and the only thing we need to do is integrate all these new mixed reality experiences into it much deeper and further, such they using those as your main portal into the "Metaverse" is as seamless and natural as grabbing your mouse and keyboard and doing whatever you want to do, be it playing a game, surfing some website, selling some stocks, listing to your music, watching the "p" word, viewing a video on YouTube, buying something on Amazon, having a Zoom call for business, working on your indy game project, paying your bills, checking a route to the nearest cafe, etc. Listen, just switch out "Internet" for "Metaverse", think about using a VR/AR/MR headset/device as your main way of viewing and interacting with "it", and you'll see the job is pretty much already done. Now it's just a matter of who ends up being the biggest players once the VR/AR/MR aspect grows into one of the biggest components of this "Metaverse", and how the rest of us fit into that. But, honestly, I don't think much will change other than VR/AR/MR are going to go from strength to strength.
Damn i hate change. Ever since Facebook changed to Meta both my debit cards were crippled. and can't be used in games.
