By the end of the decade, the Metaverse could be worth between $6 trillion and $13 trillion. But what is it?
The Metaverse is not simply immersive virtual reality or a really cool video game. It’s a combination of technologies that allows an unlimited number of users to experience real-time rendered, 3D virtual worlds synchronously and persistently.
It is difficult to predict how the Metaverse will evolve, just as it was nearly impossible to predict the emergence of Facebook during the era of Windows 95. The Metaverse will not replace the internet, but will build upon and extend it.

In the simplest form, the Metaverse is the digitization of our world and the ability to connect every single should on earth. Which is truly impossible, except at infinity, mathematically speaking.
Vr correctional outreach system..wow have yall read its patent?
Just from reading the comments, people still do not understand what it is. They either did not watch or comprehend the video.
When it comes to the world of investing, most people don't know where to start. Fortunately, great investors of the past and present can provide us with guidance. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life..
Still couldn't buy the 'big innovation' of metaverse… For me, innovative was second life or even a few other raw prior versions of it… Metaverse is an evolution with current/newer tech, and far bigger, but FB can't take the 'inventor' label.
Thanks for this useful content. I love the metaverse and I'm looking forward to experiencing the metaverse in The Mera – DeFi Warrior
Imagine living in a simulation and moving into another simulation within the simulation.
So you want to draw people into some fake simulation, make them spend money there and take a cut of each transaction. F… off.
Anybody who plays mmo games is familiar with the metaverse. I think it's strange that these companies are acting as though the metaverse is something brand new, and fail to mention virtual worlds like Second Life and Entropia Universe.
So, China has already built a metaverse ? More so to ensure social harmony rather than a commodity where it seems to be headed in the west.
Why did 3d glasses fail?
So according to this because the metaverse will be valued between $6 and $13 trillion dollars in a decade time we need to understand it and be smart and learn how to use it…but why we have to put our attention onto something that generate money?
Yeahh, maybe our species should go extinct before trying this stupid project
The last thing he talked about should have been the first thing he talked about. Shows you where their heads/hearts are.

Computer hardware is just not powerful enough to make as great as they’re making it seem to be. Like they’re saying it will revolutionize the entire internet. If they’re gonna actually build something on that scale, then this “Metaverse” better be close to being real as the real world.
Yes…Let's all step out of reality, stop smelling fresh cut grass, a pine forest on a rainy day, the smell of bread that you have freshly baked, …..and live virtually in our computers. While this concept may be a nice idea after our poor fragile little planet has been scorched, if we spend too much time In the Metaverse, we will forget above the Real Universe, and ignore the fact that it is Being Scorched.
Let's all be vigilant, and be careful not to spend our lives in this other world, and not allow ourselves to be convinced that this will be our New World.
Be Careful when you spend too much time with your "Gridsuit" on, (see Pete Townsend Pyschoderelict), he predicted it way back in the last Century lol. We won't be "Safe from Harm…on The Grid" imho. 🙂 Peace and Love to All.
9:34 "We should also think of a world filled with sensors, scanning cameras, projection cameras, to allow us to be actively in the Metaverse."
Then imagine having Facebook/Meta being the frontman of this "new" era of technology, with their squeaky clean, spotless, flawless, perfect track record involving user data and user privacy (/s obviously). Bye bye privacy.
People will be / are already enraged if there's cameras at every corner of the street just to thwart CRIMES, but somehow you expect people to be okay with the installation of cameras and sensors for the purposes of the Metaverse? What a pitch.
I don't see any advantage of the Metaverse. Nothing Can Beat The Reality Using 5 senses and more.
I choose no. That’s freedom
This is all old , and there are countless metaverses that have been active for years , imagine having the ar feature from Pokémon go on your glasses where augmented reality shows up in the real world , there will be endless layers of meta verses , think of that scene in back to the future with the shark. This clip is shit house. But metaverse is a while off but it will be the new thing wether you like it or not
He’s full of something which is brown and smelly.
visions of "The Matrix" are dancing in my head…without the humanbeing being bred for electricity…not just yet anyway lol…..we are headed for wonderful yet kinda scary times ahead of us.
So what happens when my 3-D goggles are showing me the garden of Eden, and as I go to step into paradise, I bump into my couch? What happened to that 3-D TV when people just didn't want to sit around with those goofy headsets on?
Nice commercial. I love videos that are basically one big, long advertisement.
The "metaverse" is like that social media site that was hot for years, but loses popularity because of all the ads and monetization and people move to the next big thing with less annoying ads. Only the "metaverse" just skips that whole phase of being trendy and not overbearing with ads.
It's just going to be a bunch of people trying to sell shit people don't need to other people selling shit people don't need at this rate lol. It's just rehashed ideas we already have, being done better outside of the "metaverse" in a less complicated and more convenient way.
Another way to addict people even more, including increase unrealistic expectations about oneself, replace human physical interation, distortion of reality. Hey, we already have that! That’s called social media!
I’m glad by this time all of this come alive my children, now young kids, will be older enough to make informed decision themselves. It is already hard enough educating kids in the era of social media and screen time, I can only imagine how horrible this will be for parents of teenagers and young kids.
wow! SeconfLife has been the best ever metaverse since 2010 times. Until facebook came along!
I like what he proposes, but its the assumption of interoperability at a level that is impossible under capitalism. Basically, the only way this works is if one company owns it, and everyone has to pay to play along, because the cost of putting this together is beyond what any company in existence could possibly afford on their own. Think "BuyNLarge" or a single one world government as the only way it could actually happen as described. Barring all companies merging, or the UN becoming the worlds largest software developer, technology probably will continue to evolve and lots of virtual worlds will exist but it will be many barely connected "worlds" that only interoperate begrudgingly and minimally. There's going to be a Disneyverse, an Appleverse, a "Meta(tm) verse", ChinaVerse, OpenVerse, etc. That is if history has taught us anything. Humans will continue to human regardless of the technology.
Why does this guy sound like Mark Zuckerberg, and why did they name it the Metaverse? I guess the name Matrix was taken.
Graphite
I was falsely banned on Facebook and Facebook did nothing about it. In fact when I request a review they told me they didn't have the people to review my request. I never violated any community standards. They went on to delete my Instagram. Delete all my photos, memories, and conversations. Even to go as far as removing access to my deceased fathers legacy page. Also, removed my business account. Because segregating me from my friends, family, and co-workers is being humanly. Their system is broken. If you're going to invest money into their universe, know at any moment they can take it away from you and lose everything you've invested in.
Climate disaster in making
This man and the Metaverse are demonic. Coming for your life and soul.
Metaverse – COUNT ME OUT!!!
send it to zero?
Layman's terms, please.
First of all I think it’s a lot of fancy terms put to impress and secondly we will never have presence of mind and mindful human interactions again. Who wants this? This is a vision of the world brought to us by kids that played games all their lives and never had attention of parents or live love partners … it’s quite sad
None of the ideas about Metaverse is new. It is hard for any sensible people to gauge the current development and still see a way to achieve trillions of scale by the end of this decade – VR is a handicapped experience at best, many Metaverse platforms reported a significant drop in active users and work inside a virtual 3D environment is confusing to many. The best Metaverse platform so far is cartoon and pixelated style meaning we are still far from super-realistic and attractive places for the mass majority of people to hang out all day, these current platforms are merely blockchain-enabled multi-player games. For the time being, Metaverse is just a glorified and repurposed video game, it takes a bit more to get to a truly glorious trillion-scale business for everyone on the planet.
Blahhhh this is all going to flop. I think the effective pull back by society will be staggering to these corporate fools.
Who cares?
Oh so this is one of the guys that wants to become a God and cure death by plug-in every one to their matrix aka slave machine and then stand on top of every one else because he believes we are not like him aka we are different species and he is more advance than us and therefore we are nothing but insects 🙂🙂🙂 ya, let that sink in. 🙃… there are many like this human that has sold his soul to Lucifer after he was promised a piece of the new world order that will kill the world of vermin as him and his buddies call everyone else that is not a Mark Z or a Elom M. 🤔
Star Citizen will be the first step into the metaverse.
The tech they are working on won't just be groundbreaking for games.
I was surprised and glad that the presenter spoke of the ills of such a system, and how we should be aware of what's coming. Blockchain is the answer, decentralization.
00:02 no. We are not
Big yawn.
The thing that I'm really excited about when it comes to this is being able to play WOW in virtual reality.
