nTop’s software has found significant application in various industries. For instance, the U.K.-based supermarket chain Ocado uses nTop’s tools to enhance its autonomous robots. By redesigning 16 critical robot components, Ocado managed to reduce the robots’ weight by two-thirds within a week—a process that previously took four months without nTop’s technology.
Similarly, a Formula 1 design team utilized nTop to model and optimize a heat sink for their race cars. This innovative design resulted in a heat sink with three times the surface area and 25% less weight than previous models, significantly improving cooling performance and efficiency.
Integration with AI and Future Prospects
nTop is integrating AI models into its simulation workloads, using NVIDIA’s Modulus framework, Omniverse platform, and CUDA-X libraries. This allows companies to train neural networks on their specific design data, enabling rapid iteration and optimization of designs.
