I really like your content for comics and l watch your videos all the time. Very informative and it helps me decide what to collect IRL. When it comes to Veve l dont agree with your views but l am glad we all can choose what to collect, enjoy and invest on. I saw your recent video on the new comic collection that was found. That guy was way ahead of his time and collected in a time when he was looked down for his pasion.

I think the comic book industry is going to see some devastating changes, they truly do not need/not as many comic book artists anymore.
I have seen examples, and I could not tell the difference and I'd even say the AI was better.
A friend of mine is doing a project where he has taken ALL art published and all known art by a comic book artist and made new art, in the artist's style.
As he himself has every panel ever drawn by said artist, he can manually check that the AI didn't copy anything directly. It really looks like the artist made this.

Does this mean we’re giving up on the comic book market? Absolutely not.

As far as today's current NFT format…they are undesirable because they are Centralized and you don't really own them. Just are custodians to the token. I love the idea…but the fact that I don't actually own them is a problem.
Is Metaverse dead…no, this iteration is. The tokens are non desirable. I don't think AI is even relatable to impact NFTs directly. AI has been around since before Metaverse. It's just buzzing bc of ChatAI.
Bottom line, I agree that physicals are a real investment vs NFTs. I walked away from digital mostly bc it's about greedy flippers, not collectors. I like my NFTs…I got a bunch of comics including AF15, but it's just not as good to holding a real book.

I've got 1,600 digital comic books on VeVe. Smh. Last January they were valued at $150k, now down to $15k. I think you might be right, and I think moonbois like the comics and crypto bros might be right. I'm weary of people that speak definitively about the future of digital comics because none of us have a crystal ball. I respect your opinion though and just subscribed to your channel. Because funny enough buying comics on VeVe has made me interested in physical comics as well. I watch more physical comic channels on YouTube than VeVe specific creators. And then apply their insight and knowledge to my VeVe comic collecting. I do agree with you on the non comic collectibles on VeVe. I don't own any of those. For some reason owning the comics feels a lot safer and easier to justify.

Humans by nature are addicted to technology and one thing we love a lot are video games and consumer spend 60Billion a year and growing on digital items they can never own or re trade on an open market.
Physical comics purchased every year are roughly 1.5B
There will be no contest for this growing unstoppable tsunami that’s taking place.
If you’ve ever bought a skin in a game, a virtual expansion pack, coins, gems, chests, armor. You will be buying NFTS sooner or later especially ones linked to gamification, utility, sentiment value and scarcity.
People are coming into a world where they now have a choice buy the digital item you can never own and resell which is what masses are already doing, or buy the digital item that is now scarce, has utility or is mabey just visually appealing to you and you can actually own it and re trade it in the future if you like.
The metaverse is in its infancy right now and only growing to grow with all things digital.
When this guy says VEVE is going to die and disappear it makes me laugh at the lack of vision. They make millions per month even in this bear market, Whales continuing to buy grails even during economic crisis, partnered with dam near every major brand on the face of the earth and their licensing director is responsible for the success of almost every popular show you grew up watching and trading card you collected.
Metaverse ain’t perfect or where it needs to be however Metaverse, NFTS and VEVE ain’t going no where. Honestly, no one knows the future of collecting. The metaverse and digital collecting has only just got started. It's because of VEVE I started collecting physical comics. I really don't understand why old school collectors feel the need to bash this new way of collecting.
I couldn’t agree more. And you can’t lump VeVe into “everything is down 90%”. VeVe was goin down waaay before. It’s the poor business practices of D&D. I seen it early in Aug 2021 and got out after the top.

I think you got metaverse confused with NFTs. You can have an NFT without a metaverse. NFTs are just proof of ownership on the blockchain. Blockchains are not going away anytime soon. Even the U.S. government are already using blockchain. Since you like researching so much, look up FedNow which is a digital payment system that the U.S. government will be pushing out July, 2023. California DMV are currently testing NFT car titles. Ticketmaster are also testing out NFT tickets, which prevents scammers from selling fake tickets. Never in the history of mankind were creators able to get royalties on each resale of an item after the initial retail sale. With NFTs they can, using smart contracts on the blockchain. If you think that big corporations & independent artists are going to walk away from sources of passive income that they were never able to have in the past, you might want to think again.
Your logic about popularity of NFTs would hold water if the entire world economy is not currently down. High end NFTs are no different than high end physical comic books in the sense that neither are essential buys in the current state of the economy. The stock market has been down for about a year now, & major banks collapsing, do you think that the average investor got extra money to put into any investment? This does not apply to just NFTs, but most investments including physical comic books. You pointing out that the value & popularity of NFTs being down is not much different than the value of physical comic books being down. Since you enjoy using Google Trend, I did a side-by-side comparison of Comic Books vs NFT starting back in 2014 when the first NFT came out until today's date. The interest in comic books has been flatlining for 8 to 9 years now. Even at the bottom, NFTs still got more interest than comic books. You are just showing one part of the picture without telling the whole story. Instead of embracing potential new people to the comic books space, you are pushing them away. You can believe what you like, but I personally think that it's not the best way to go about it if you want to grow the physical comic book space.
