On January 18, two days before Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, he made headlines by launching his first meme coin, the Official Trump Meme (TRUMP).
President Trump announced the meme coin’s launch in a post on X, stating, “My NEW Official Trump Meme is HERE! It’s time to celebrate everything we stand for: WINNING!”
A day after TRUMP’s release, its market cap surged to more than $9.7 billion, while its price jumped to over $74. However, the token dropped 38% from $74.6 to $45.9 after Melania Trump introduced her own meme coin, the Official Melania Meme (MELANIA).
